Life of Moi

Daily Ramblings of one young nigerian lady

But sweetness sings in the pasture,
We throw ourselves on the mercy of the earth.
If sand and salt have the answer,
Then the act itself will be louder than the word.
And I’ll be on your side

It hurts to admit defeat but I lost in a tiebreak to Alice :( I still don’t know what happened. Sinking into depression……… (at Jubilee Sports Centre)

The Afro Comb: A symbol of perseverance despite the struggle! Detangling the stubborn! When you face trouble, be strong like the Afro comb and untangle that knot! Hehehe ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜

23

Today, I turn 23. The euphoria, the excitement, the shots spreading through my veins seemed to lose all potency as the clock went 5 minutes past midnight. I guess for a minute or two, it was time for somber reflection.
I remember being 16, wondering what my life would be like past 20. Am I were I thought I’d be? No. Nevertheless I am proud o what I am today! Unfortunately(personally I don’t think it’s that deep hehe) I always imagined that upon graduation, I’d secure a high flying job in a top city commercial law firm but Lo and behold the reality is different. Different but sweet and packed with reasons to be thankful.

At 23 I hold a second class upper division (2.1) in LLB Law with politics from the University of Hull. In addition to this, I hold a certificate for a special mention as a delegate for Cote D’ivoire in the 2011 Nottingham Model United Nations. I also have served as President of a University Society, taken part in 2 Pro Bono Schemes working with people who need legal aid the most. I’ve been privileged to have my work on display in the British Library, present a case in front of a respectable judge (who commended my skill) and study for a Masters of Law in the Best University for maritime law; The University of Southampton.

I’ve lost some friends (most I wish I didn’t have to lose) but I’ve made better friends! I’ve shed tears but have had a million more reasons to smile
I’ve experienced heartbreak, but have broken fewer hearts. Brought laughter on many faces and can be a shoulder to cry on.

I have the most amazing family in the world. I am blessed with the most fantastic people as friends and most of all I serve a God who remains ever merciful to me!!

For these things, I am content. I am pleased and I remain ever thankful. So here’s one to Ngozi Obiageli Chloe Bernadette Anwuli Medani!!!

Happy Birthday Me! May the day remain as blessed as always!
